Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Utica Comets Playoffs Resume, Ehrhoff Interested in Van The Utica Comets will hit the ice for Game 3 of their Western Conference Final series today in Grand Rapids, and Christian Ehrhoff's agent suggests the defenseman could be interested in returning to Vancouver as a free agent.

From a clear salary cap idea trade miller for pavelec. Save 2.1 and pavs contract ends next season.

Ehrhoff would have to be less than 4, agreed.

Yup. It's systematic. Lack has the only value right now to fill a need/return.

Markstrom can gain value as Miller's backup next season then we can move him for an asset as well. Miller we will be basically dumping his salary so not much there.

Cannata and then Eriksson can fight it out to see who backs up Demko.

What if we could get rid of Sbisa but only if we replaced with Ehrhoff?

Demko is likely 5 years away if he even makes it, he should be Lack's protege. I don't understand why people would want to move the goalie with the best chance of actually being a starter for a marginal return.

Miller will only get worse as he ages, Markstrom is still a huge question mark in the NHL. Keep the goalie entering his prime who is already the teams best goalie unless the return is overwhelming, which is doubtful in this current market.

I think Lack is only going to get better because he takes his offseason training very seriously. He's always trying to get that edge that will make him better whether it is in regards to fitness or theoretical work. Sedins have taught him well.

Demko could turn into the next Markstrom too. Highly touted prospect but not guaranteed to be a #1 or it could be a long process to get there.

Trade Miller - If he's healthy, sell him to SJ for a decent pick

No thanks to Erhoff - 4 years ago he was the man, now he's too old, and fragile. I'd prefer the money was spent on Mike Green.

I hope to see Jake and Sven in the lineup next year.

I'd sell high on Markstrom. Keep miller and lack. Play them about 50/50 if lack is better then miller at the tdl get rid of miller.

Ehrhoff was not "terrific" for Pittsburgh when he was healthy. He was solid but didn't produce as much offense as expected. He's probably a fair value between $4-$5m/yr as a 2nd pairing dmen.

Definitely but we won't know either way for a number of years, so stick with what you have now, who can always be moved later.

I don't see how a 2nd or 3rd round pick now helps the team long term as much as having a likely starter for the next 5+ years.

I would much rather have cap space (miller trade) or a 4th/5th pick (Markstrom trade).
